As someone who has had suicidal episodes, it's hard to explain what it's like to be at that point. Obviously mine have never made it to the final point but sitting on that edge is something I wouldn't wish for anyone. It is hands down the darkest place my mind has taken me and at that point there is nothing more than a desire to end the pain (real or perceived). Having someone there to just listen has been the most helpful when I've been there.
