Exactly, Voat hosts several subs that deal with material that much of the government would rather not have out in the open. Of course Voat is watched and the narrative directed to steer away free thinkers from the site or submit them to narratives that increase stupidity. There's also the fact that Reddit's increasing censorship in turns drives the less desirable into Voat as refuge, dumbing down the user base there naturally. And of course there's the alt-right ignoring the fact that they are just as bad as the far left, scorning anyone who refuses to believe what they do. Making something like Phuks was inevitable.
