We use a leveling system based on votes you get from posts and comments. Level two takes about 40 positive votes, which can usually be done with 4-5 good posts. When you reach level 4, you no longer have to use the captchas.

Means you need to be at a level 2 to create a sub.

Check your profile you will see what level you are, 1. You need to participate more to get to level 2. It's very easy to do.

What type of sub do you want to create?

the site has a point system, each time someone gives a phuk about something you post, you get a point. every level takes exponentially more points but level 2 is only like 10 i think, i forget the exact formula and i can't remember where we have talked about it before.

at any rate, @polsaker @pembo210 i think an faq is needed

Level 1 is 10, level 2 is 40, level 3 is 90, etc.

Formula is level=sqrt(xp/10) where xp=Phuks taken+badge score

that's a curious level to start at.

Not really. It's a site designed by programmers. One of the first things a programmer learns is that numbers start at 0, not 1. To non-programmers 0 represents nothing, so it is generally disregarded. But from a programming perspective it is just as valid a position as any other value, so skipping it could be wasted space.

It also works like a secret handshake among programmers. Any time you see someone start a count with 0, you know they are a part of the geek club.
