This is a short pencil test/post production of the scene by james baxter

and the finished result is this right here (starts at 2:19 if it glitches for you)

as an artist who is self taught in animation this is realllly good. like, really good. alot of the people that are in the art industry right now that watch this show or maybe just keep up with Baxter, really, really enjoy this scene. i think i might find it so interesting because as a child i watched old Disney films like Cinderella, Pocahontas, beauty and the beast and never gave a second thought about the animation process and who was behind it so to get my own modern taste of it and to find out who did it i am definitely now a fan of than mans work. it also makes me realize animation on 1's is really, really something. after watching a couple baxter reels and jumping into some anime makes anime feel like a goddamn powerpoint lmao

hm? what did you mean by glossed over? do you think the smooth animation took too much away from what the scene tried to convey?

I mean in the final cut Steven glowed pink instead of maintaining the character detail, he was more or less a glowing silhouette. I could have worded that better.

oh. maybe the glowing just lasted too long? but the glowing always occurs when there is a fusion happening so steven was fusing with his pure diamond form

Yeah, I figured there was an important significance to it.
