No matter what happens going forward or who or what you support, just remember that everyone now knows that if the people in this country put their minds to it, they can annex city blocks for weeks on end and take over capital buildings.

The government should fear the people.

The people who remember things will remember them. The rest will rapidly forget those events soon as the next celebrity scandal hits the news.

Though you would like to believe that Americans are somehow more gifted and special, they truly aren't. If such were the case, they'd all remember the the massive race riots of the '60's and the '68 DNC riots in Chicago. They'd remember about Watergate and the Embassy takeover in Tehran. The truth is, that unless someone has fairly recently had to learn of those topics in a history course, very few people have any awareness that they occurred.

The only people who will probably remember what happened this week are the sad, egotistical, poly-sci majors and those people who have nothing better to do with their lives than mull over political disappointments.

Oh, and also the parents of the fools who were killed storming a federal building secure in the knowledge that it was alright because they were special.

I give the current "Capitol Insurrectionist" angle about a one week storytime before the media sycophants move on to the next emergency.

What's the over/under on that one?

LOLS, Yeah. Something shiny and new will catch their attention and it'll be all gone.

EDIT: It should be noted, though that if that had been classed as insurrection, the DoD could have been called out to put them down. Once it's officially an insurrection, it's no longer a civil law matter but becomes one of national security.

They put this on a tee before Trump was even elected. The state media won't let this one go. It's too useful.
