He was an entertainer who happened to have wisdom to disseminate. As for any involvement he might have had with those programs, the development of those techniques was in response to another country making progress (supposedly) and this was part of balancing the power out.
But unless you buy into the whole Men Who Stare at Goats theme, it's just speculation.
this was part of balancing the power out.
I had never thought of it that way. Makes a lot of sense. Even though our programs may or may not have been created for ill-will, its a dumb move to let your enemies develop technologies that you have no control over. At the end of the day, I am very thankful I found this man. I bought a lot of his work from his son who maintains an online shop, and even years later I can hear his English voice peacefully rising through the fog of shit to give me sound advice.
His laugh alone was so wonderfully zen. Absolutely a man before his time.
I'd never thought to look to see if there was any store or anything that caters to his teachings, etc. Do you have a link?
I love Watts. He was a brilliant thinker and a great entertainer. It disturbed me a bit when i learned he worked for MI5 and was involved with the early stages of project Mk-Ultra. Him, Timothy Leary, and another big name from the 60s that i cant remember right now were responsible for disseminating the foundations of LSD culture. He was also a deadbeat dad and an alcoholic, but his wisdom will last for ages. I cant judge anyone because im terrible myself.
Its actually more relatable to know he had his own faults, instead of acting like a spiritual guru who did no wrong.
