Little guy and his mom are doing well after the birth yesterday. He came out at 3,6 kg / 7 pounds and is fully healthy.

I feel like i've "been lived" for the last 36 hours and it's all just slowly starting to sink in. You sum it up well and then some, so yeah a lot of emotions. I actually cried when i introduced him to the cats yesterday. He's also my parents first grandchild and it is really awesome to see that connection take form.

Good to hear you're not forgetting about the cats.
Sometimes pets will become jealous of new babies because they are attention thieves.

New Grandmas are great. Full of all the wisdom you might lack, and usually eager to babysit. Put them to work often.
I abused the free child-care from my mother, and she thanked me for it. :)

My kid gets to live one of my childhood dreams of growing up with cats, the thought of them becoming best friends fills me with warmth. I try to keep giving them a lot of attention and keep exposing/including them to the baby/babythings. They are surprisingly relaxed and come check him out every hour or so. Very gently coming near and sniffing/looking then backing off again. Its endearing to see.

Earlier we where changing my son in the babyroom when he started crying. My boycat came running into the room, rubbed up to my leg and meowed at me in a worried tone, while looking me in the eyes. {he only does/did this when i pickup his mom to clean shit out of her tail.) I picked him up so he could see and while in my arms he started purring and rubbing his head on my arm while looking at the lil man. Teared me right the fuck up.

Sounds like you're doing a great job.

I picked him up so he could see..

Purrfect. They just want to know what's going on, and be included.
