I'm in the process of planning a shop, about 20x20. I really want to start building furniture and stuff on the side. I have about an acre of thick woods. I would love to build some tool boxes with drawers and hinges, like back when you have to make your own tool box. https://kek.gg/i/5LRrGd.png

i love this kind of stuff

I want to make some nicer boxes and drawers too. I learned how to cut the groves for the bottom with a chisel. Very slow. I made an improvised grooving plane that uses a chisel for the blade, it sort of worked. Need to get some steel and make a better one.

I want to make some more tools. One thing is a bench vise. I definitely want a wooden vise, and have narrowed it down to a couple of choices for a leg vise, either wedge or cam powered.

I really want to make a Japanese style plane or two, if I can manage to work precisely enough.

Something I'll do soon is a mortise gauge, I have a plastic marking gauge that I pretty much hate.

So I made this little box/tray last year for my chisels, top. It is meh, OK. Nice thing is I can move it around easily.

It is a little deep though, makes grabbing one slightly awkward. Also I want to pare down on space used. To that end I made a rack, much more compact and easier to grab the one I need.

At some point I will incorporate this into a box/chest/whatever. I may make it so I can pull the rack out and attach it to a receiver on a wall or on the bench somewhere. IDK. For now it will go on one of those studs in the back, once I decide how to attach it.
