When I first came out saying I was gonna put SDBH underground and started blabbering on about mole people everyone was excited. It was a new direction for the sub and a break from the abstract nonsense CSSs I'd been making for years.

But when the CSS actually dropped I mostly got a meh response. I didn't expect everyone to get super invested in the mole people genocide storyline, but that wasn't the point. I wanted to do something different and you troglodytes expected another seizure CSS.

I mean what the fuck did you guys expect me to do? It's underground. How could I possibly make dirt look exciting.

And trust me, I tried. I hid all kinds of little details in the background of the underground colony. I spent at least a week trying to make the flat earth cross section with Agartha and Doomguy and the moon underneath it look right.

Nobody said anything about that. I was mocked, told that my CSS was boring and that I lost my touch. My work was compared to the MDE 8chan board.

So I went back to the flashy, abstract nonsense you all loved. When it was time to move on from that I lost all motivation, threw a staircase in the background, and called it good.

Now it's been a while since Polsaker updated the CSS limits and there's been this quiet nagging expectation of me from the community to make something new and amazing.

But why should I bother putting effort into it when you plebians can't even appreciate my craft?

I don't care what you guys think or what you guys expect for this next one. SDBH underground was the greatest CSS this sub, if not the internet as a whole, has ever had. If you guys are incapable of seeing that, that's not my problem.
