Was it to get away form the raids of heygeorge or kevdude? Or because the grass had a robust nature and was sweet to the taste?

Total and absolute Mismanagment, afk admins, cutting back on features, admins not communicating with userbase wich wanted to help, 3 month long queue's for /v/subverserequest, brigading, the shift from "old voat" to hivemind and "right wing safespace" , the everlasting bullying/brigading of PV versus anyone trying to build up a non political sub/community, Constantly getting branded because you have critical opinions or dare to be critical towards admins or voat, the lack of playerbase to recruit for Modernpowers, and mainly just tired of the toxic idiocy and constant DrAHama.

I had been talking to @pembo and @polsaker about this idea for a while, then two years ago we just decided to start cause we where done. There was a lot of drama on voat, nothing was getting done, things only got worse. about the same time puttputt just took down some features (like 20 page max history per sub) which basically made MP unplayable on voat. Also seeing how @THC and @innocentbystander got treated on /v/videos for making a stand about the cutbacks made us see it was a lost cause. This made us push the site live just before christmas 2016. With a lot of help from the MP crew and a lot of others, we slowly attracted new people and made this our new home. Its a bit empty still but its home never the less and we'll see what ever the future brings.

Atleast this time we have active management who listen to the userbase, participate, value critical users and critique so the site is actually alive and improving.
