One of the extra things I like about living in a free, capitalistic/Libertarian society is that if people want to create a communal economic system, they are free to do so.
So even if you think capitalism is terrible and shitty and people should help provide for the "basic needs" of everyone, you can do that on your own. In a free society, nothing stops you from gathering with other like-minded people, coming to some sort of consensus on how the thing should be run - possibly even buying land and removing your group from the rest of society, and becoming entirely self-sufficient, if your group is large enough - and then implementing it. And so, if you really believe in a centralized structure for those kinds of things, and that kind of system - great! Wonderful! Have at it! No one will stop you.
But when you resort to coercion and violence to force people to engage in that kind of behavior, against their will, then you've gone astray.
Also worth noting the opposite is never true - you cannot create and maintain a free market-style economy inside a socialist one. It would never be permitted. But the beauty of a free society is that you can pursue your own objectives and desires, and so long as you do not bring harm to other people, there is no justification for stopping you.
