One of the primary arguments against universal healthcare has been the idea of subsidizing the costs of how people abuse themselves through bad choices, food, drink, drugs, and so on.
The counter arguments have been
- Insurance does that anyway
- "I just wanna treat people like humans"
Except now there's a notable number of people who are unvaccinated and ending up in hospitals. Oh, you're really super quick to point out that your "feelings" on the matter differentiate between those who can't vaccinate (or won't because of various legitimate issues which make it difficult or unreasonable such as jobs or family care that result in a near permanent quarantine anyway) and those who won't because of some reason or another that you can't fathom (like misinformation or whatever).
Suddenly, it's okay to laugh at those people who are dying. It's suddenly okay to want to refuse them medical treatment or give them substandard care because it fills up hospitals who now suddenly can't give care to other people.
Well no kidding you freaking idiot. Now it's an okay argument? It went from "You will either stay at home forever or always wear a mask" to "It's okay for you to just die."
You're exactly like those hypocrites who are anti-abortion until their girlfriend unexpectedly gets pregnant. Except you're worse because you hide your real face and intentions with a lie of "humanity" that is okay to just throw out of the window because now it affects your "feelings." You're a hypocrite AND a liar and no one can ever trust you again.
So props you as you finally take off your mask and reveal that it was always only about what you wanted and wasn't about being humane at all. (Spoiler: anyone paying attention always knew anyway, they're not surprised one bit)
Also, good luck getting that universal healthcare passed because everyone sees you unmasked. These people will remember and oppose you every step of the way as long as they have the ability to vote.
