You need to shut your mouth and mask up.
If you were one of those people who were mad about others not wearing masks and are not happy about having to wear masks again, welcome to the "Snowflake Club." Elections for key positions are every day but it's not like it matters because no one listens and everyone is constantly complaining. You deserve that title so kneel and take your mantle. You were the ones running around acting like little super-spreaders and not listening to the anti-maskers or anti-vaxxers who told you all along that you are still spreading it. Even the CDC agrees now.
You vaxxed people? You. Are. Not. Bulletproof. The vaccine just makes it far less likely that you'll have serious symptoms (like death). You can catch it, spread it, mutate it (thanks for that, by the way) just like anyone else. The only difference is that the people who didn't take the vaccine didn't lie to themselves and everyone else the way you did.
I get it. I do. And I'm glad you were willing to do the right thing. I really am. But this virus is not like any we've seen and you really need to get that through your head. It is better to assume the worst for yourself than to assume that there's any hope of a normal life in the next 3 to 5 years. Get used to working from home. Get used to having your groceries delivered. Get used to still making your own coffee as you walk over to your desk to start your work day. And get used to the idea that minimum wage is going to go up without legislation because people just won't risk their lives for peanuts (I know, that whole "without legislation" really ticks you off).
And now you don't get to blame people who were not vaccinated. At all. You get to wear a mask and go into lockdown like the super-spreaders you are, same as the rest of the people.
And for those who saw this coming from a mile away (like some of us here), our life hasn't changed. Not one bit. We're still working from home, we're still isolating, we're still washing or disinfecting our hands every time we touch something while we're out.
As far as the vaccine goes, this is a coronavirus strain. You know those morons who said "It's just a common cold?" They were both right and wrong. It's not a common cold but it is a common cold virus type. And do you know why we haven't have a vaccine for the common cold? Because it doesn't work. I'm calling it now: the only way to deal with this is to go into what amounts to a planetary lockdown while the scientist/magicians crack open the coronavirus code and find out how to really get rid of it for good.
At least we'll have gotten rid of the "common cold".
Exactly this. The only reason to get it (any side effects notwithstanding) is so that you don't die if you do catch it.
Miraculously, those people still doing strict isolation with a self imposed lockdown (like me), have an even much lower chance of catching COVID than the best case scenarios of the vaccinated.
In case it matters, my mother, sister, and niece all have about every co-morbidity so they'll die if they catch it, they can't get vaccinated because of health issues and since my mother is elderly and I visit her every other week or so to help her out, my life would still be a constant pre-quarantine. In fact, as much as I hate to say it, I think I'd rather NOT be vaccinated so that I would know that I have it than to accidentally carry it to them without knowing.
All in all, since I'm doing the strictest possible lockdown and quarantine that is possible (visiting my mother aside), the side effects are actually a reason for me not to get it since I consider my chances of catching it about as close to zero as might seem reasonable. And even if I do catch it, what am I gonna do? Am I gonna "lockdown harder"?
