Fall 2013. The first time I read those words my pulse quickened. Years before I had first read the Abarat and fell in love with the tale. Barker wrote an amazing story full of enjoyable characters and a fantastical universe.

By 2012 I had read the second one, and after reading the release date, I quickly ordered the third. I read it, enjoying the growing conflict and preparations for the upcoming battle. Then that ending man, literal cliff hanger. I could barely wait the handful of months until the 4th book was released.

Then finally fall arrived, and then winter. Still no word yet. 2014 started and a new date of fall 2015 was announced. Disappointed yet still anticipating I waited. And waited. Finally the date arrived. And went. As did 2016, and 2017.

Now it's almost 2019 and I want my fucking book already!

I swear he's gonna die before releasing it just to spite me after all these years.

I had to look that one up, as I have never heard of that author or her series.

And I can't tell if i would respect that decision or be infuriated by the lack of closure.
