i remain very underwhelmed by this 'bomb shell'. so far the only new thing that i've seen that has come out is that hunter might have got a foot job from his niece and i don't see how that's joe's fault. everything else i've seen has been verifiably disproven or is still far too nebulous like joe's connections to hunter's business dealings. unless there's some juicy bits still hidden away, i agee that the suppression is the bigger story but i'd also argue everything that has led up to this is also a big story. how much time and money did rudy giuliani put into this and just what were the motives? were they disappointed when they didn't find any smoking guns so they decided to set a trap for media companies?

The obvious question is how is a crackhead going out and making international business deals and sitting on the board of foreign companies and receiving high pay if not for use of his family's political connections. Why in the world would such a person be sitting on a board in Ukraine? Occam's razor pretty clearly suggests Joe is involved in this.

but the ukraine and crack angles aren't new. they've been around for a year. there was supposed to be some damning shit on that laptop and 8 days before the election and tens of millions of votes cast and there's still nothing new that better implicates joe than the nebulous rumors there were before.

Obviously the timing isn't a coincidence. Politicians have always saved dirt for release close to elections to maximize impact (e.g. release of GWB's DUI record in days before election). A lot of times the dirt isn't that big, people don't care, or it doesn't move the needle much, but there really isn't an excuse for burying information like this. Not in a free society.

But as far as we can tell, there are facts that corroborate the story, and yet the media refuses to cover the story and censors it with the simple thought-terminating cliche calling it "Russian interference":

  • The FBI received this laptop about a year ago
  • The shop has Hunter's signature on the drop off
  • Recipients in the emails have confirmed they are authentic
  • Joe Biden hasn't denied the claims at all
  • Hunter's attorney sent a letter to the repair shop asking for the return of the laptop
  • The FBI and DNI say there isn't evidence that this is disinformation
  • Hunter Biden has a sextape some people are saying is with a minor; I don't know if it is a minor, but the media has completely buried it and in effect caused conspiracy theories to grow
  • The media has not similarly censored salacious and discredited Steele dossier discussion--as they shouldn't; public figures need to be open to an especially high standard for public discourse and accountability.

On balance, this makes the story look more likely true than untrue. There are pieces that will take time and investigation to uncover the truth, but the media is completely asleep and failing their duties by burying their heads in the sand because they hate Trump so much that the ends justify the means. I'm inclined to believe that the Biden family does have dirty laundry (as most politicians do), and the handling of this increases my confidence in that. Joe had previously denied the Ukraine corruption, but this release tends to corroborate the sketchy rumors. All of this taken together certainly doesn't look good for him.

Let information be free. The truth is probably complicated and will take time to unravel, but I absolutely do not trust our corporate overloads to decide for us what the acceptable truth is. Censorship like this should be horrifying to anyone, regardless of which political "side" they support.
