The thing I've noticed is that politicians are often relatively less aware of current events if they aren't talked about on the news. Like they all didn't bother to call out the dossier even though Assange pointed out from day one that it was clearly made up because it didn't have the right formatting for Russian intelligence. But no politician ever heard that. They can be months behind what the internet knows.
