To socialists, everything requires massive government intervention. It's pretty much their thing. They'll never look at a system that's working perfectly well on it's own and leave it alone. There will always be that one small thing they need to fix, then the system starts to break and they just keep "fixing" (read: breaking) things. Like a virus.
