The point I’m trying to make is that this is a smear piece using terminology of the right. “Men are confident and if you’re insecure, you’re not a man. So if you voted for Trump, then you’re not a man.”
Oh no doubt, it is a smear piece. Its pretty clear democrats are doing everything they can to condition the public and posture themselves for a win in 2020.
What scares me is that its pretty likely they'll take house and senate unless the republicans can produce some less authoritarian options. As for the white house, I just hope they're dumb enough to field Hillary again. A costco sized case of tampons is more electable than Hillary.
Hillary running again would probably be a great thing, honestly. It would completely ensure a split democratic voter base and ensure a republican victory..

I think the simplest explanation is that republican voters care more about being masculine than democrat voters. Insecurity is universal in humans, it just manifests differently depending on one's values.
