I think most people don't pay as close attention as they should. When those people see someone from the "establishment" endorsing Trump, it adds a sense of legitimacy to his candidacy. Sad indeed.

I blame Trump for allying with scum like Sessions to begin with. If flattery is all it takes for somebody to fool you, you have a major weakness.
