Of course, that isn't how security access works when you leave office

It is my understanding that they do not get unfettered access to everything they did like when they were on the job.

The security access is so that people can share stuff with them if they want to ask them a question. They do not get to walk into an office and ask to see anything they want like a daily briefing.

Security clearances routinely run on a "need to know" basis. and most of the information is stuff they simply don't "need to know".

Being able to simply walk in and look at stuff they are curious about violates all sorts of basic rules for security.

Anyone who permits this sort of security violation should go to jail, because if they do not need to know it, they should not see it.
