I can think of a few potentials that will be characterized that way.
"Trolling" opposing campaigns has always been a part of politics, and the increasing use of social media means that everyone will campaign online, going forward. So the only people immune to this legislation are the chosen successors.
If nothing else look back on Trump's election. He embodied a trolling campaign, and would have been prosecuted out of the race right around the time he had defeated all the Republican primary candidates.
