The lighting is terrible as I just had to snap off a bunch of pics at once b/c the traffic signal was changing. It's a small home made neon sign using poster board.

"Cash for Diabetic Testing Strips!"

Their telephone number is a bit blocked by the grass. Saved me the hassle of blacking it out. I was turning onto the main road in the area. You can drive for miles around and it's all suburbia. If I turned around right there and headed back a block all you would see is 1/4 acre to 1/2 acre plots of land w/ nothing but 3 - 5 bedroom family homes.

It's just me and my wife and we pay out the ass for healthcare. A guy at my last job had to turn down his raise b/c it landed him in the next income bracket and insurance would have cost him around $1,400 something a month for his family of four. Just imagine his situation though. He no longer has any chance of upward mobility at his current job b/c he wouldn't be able to pay his bills. The yearly raises there aren't enough for him to take them until something is done about Obamacare. Prior to Obamacare his family's health insurance was around $600 he told me and he had just as many kids back then.

It's destroying the middle class that pays the bill for it. I know how much our single part time receptionist makes a year. Small company. At 28 she's paying $52 a month and still living at home for the past 5 years.

Take a good long look around the country.

Now we've got another Political hack, Kamala Harris that wants to introduce the "Rent Relief Act".

Get ready to be punished w/ higher taxes for having a mortgage. It's gotta come from somewhere... Liberals never dare actually tax the rich at the rates they claim they would b/c lets face it. The donations would stop rolling in and a wealthy person w/ options isn't going to just let you rape him w/ taxes. He'll just move to a different more tax friendly country and open some businesses there.

It's simple math and this shit just isn't working. Screw you John McCain. If you didn't have such a dick up your ass b/c the president doesn't like you we'd be better off today. Instead you went back on your word to repeal... threw your constituents under the bus... and for what? All b/c we have a President that said a mean thing to you and wouldn't bend over backwards to kiss the ring and suck your dick like every other Republicunt in Congress.

The sign is a scam. Yeah, you can get money for your strips but chances are that you don't need them, somehow managed to get yours under your insurance plan. It's like selling food stamps for cash.

As for the rest of your comments, this is why health insurance is a scam. I remember the days that only wealthy and important people had insurance. Standing in a hospital watching two staff (of some kind, I was a kid) try to figure out what to do with this guy on a stretcher that was in bad shape. One said "He has insurance" and the other said "Then we'll (do all the things), insurance will pay for it." And that's when I learned that insurance is not health care but only something you're supposed to use in an emergency. Now we all want insurance for that low low cost when we're healthy and no extra money when we're sick. That's not what it's supposed to be for. Insurance is a gamble: a sliver of your monthly income for the chance you might need expensive medical care. Expensive. Not regular doctor visits, not "Doc, I got a rash" and all that nonsense. That stuff is supposed to come out of your pocket (or HSA, if you prefer). But people sitting there trying to put everything on insurance, raising all of our rates so that only people who are in the upper-middle class or better can afford real insurance. And then healthcare providers caught on to this and charge more if it's covered by insurance because "insurance will cover it."

The only way to fix this problem, both the desperation and the greed, is to make healthcare covered and "free" (no, nothing's free but you get my meaning) for everyone OR... or to get rid of insurance entirely.

Insurance is not healthcare. Or we'd go to the insurance office for a triple heart bypass, have Insurance Without Borders, and sending insurance policies during a humanitarian crisis.

Edit: Go vote against rent relief. Or at least go to the discussions and say that the only way you'd approve if they changed voting rights to be only for landowners.
