Waging war against the USA and all that.

I can see keeping the statues around someplace but keeping them in a place of honor because treason and all that . . . ?

Statues aren't glorification, they're reminders of history and important moments in history. It's not black and white, there's important nuance in remembering all of history, not just "our enemies were bad, mmkay."

I think this is wrong.

Public art does serve as a aid to memory, and as an inspiration.

It is going to be a convoluted stretch to say that these statues, erected and financed by the Daughters of the Confederacy, were not intended to ennoble their romanticized "Lost Cause", but rather were intended to memorialize the horrors of slavery and the lives wasted in defending their inhumane institution.
