But what is the quid pro quo?

I'm trying to put the dots together.

Kennedy's kid gets a badass job at DB.

Trump wants RE loans to build or renovate a few buildings in Manhattan. Goes to DB, works with Justn's team. Gets some loans, not ALL loans. $400 mil for Trump building down at 40 Wall (one block down from Federal Hall, 2 blocks down and across the street from NYSE building) and $650 for the trump International in DT Chicago. Trump is forced to put up a $40 million personal guarantee for the Chicago loan. Sounds like he wasn't pleased - he wanted to use the Trump name as an asset, DB said no, made him put up the PG.

2008, RE values dump. Trump is shitting a brick. Sues DB for $300 million for "causing the market collapse." DB sues Trump back, calls in personal guarantee and loan for Chicago building.

In walks Rosemary Vrablic from DB's private wealth management side. (Sent by Kennedy?) Loans Trump the payoff of the $300 remaining on the Chicago loan privately to pay off the institutional side. Suits are dropped/settled.

Trump continues to work with Vrablic through present day. Currently owes DB $175 million still.

So, assume Kennedy sent over Vrablic with the private wealth loan offer. What does that mean? Helped Trump get out of (another) bad situation. Sounds like Trump owed Kennedy, not the other way around.

Move forward 10 years to today. NYT is going to link Trump to Justin and DB. I don't think this is an unknown connection, but it is not public. Justice Kennedy retires. Why? What possible reason would this be for?

Well, we can assume some things. He loves his son. He knows the media hates Trump. He could be resigning to avoid the appearance of impropriety. He could be resigning because he doesn't want his son's name (or his own!) tarnished. He could be resigning because he's tired. Do any of these seem plausible?

There's a shit ton of assumptions in there. No, doesn't seem plausible.
