Well, yeah, duh. The president has the authority to control the borders. The laws and whatnot explicitly say that. He can close or limit access to them for any reason or no reason.

You know, it occurs to me that the democrats are going, for lack of better words, stark raving mad because the president has so much power. Maybe if he wasn't granted so much power and things were tossed back down to Congress where most of these things belonged in the first place, we wouldn't have half of the problems and emotional distress from democrats as we see now. Donno, just a thought.

Executive power is addictive. Each side loves when they have it and for some deluded reason think it will never end. And even when they don't have it, they can make a big noise about abuses that their opponents are making. So it is win-win for them and lose-lose for the citizens.
