If Trump (could) pardon(s) himself it would be the bankruptcy of the American constitutional democracy.....I don't think Trump can pardon himself as it is unthinkable and goes straight against the core of a modern constitutional democracy. Nixon pardoned his VP and then resigned, to be later pardoned by Pres Johnson. If Donny could pardon himself that would relief him of any accountability to the law and constitution which would pave the way for totalitarianism, corruption, self enrichment, etcetera etcetera without any accountability.

No matter if you support Trump, his policies or if you are against him, this kind of rhetoric and reasoning should worry any Murican who prides himself with "muhh rights, ,muhh constitution and muhh democracy"

I seem to remember reading that technically, legally "accepting a pardon" is seen as admitting guilt, but without the consequences. He could not hold on to his position in any way IF he actually would manage to pull something like this off in any way (even Donny). Just look at Nixon for an example.
