So far, Trump has done less of that than previous presidents.
To be fair, Obama was nearly 2 years into his first term before he'd pardoned anybody.

For the most part I disagree with all pardons. It is a perversion of justice. I believe (after having done no research) that they were introduced for rare and exceptional cases, not political maneuvering.
But it seems pretty fucked up how many complain about Trump releasing a man that never broke the law (he ignored a bench order), but those same people said nothing when Obama released a large number of drug dealers and crooked business men.
It is some kind of bizarre tradition for US presidents to pardon horrible evil people. So far, Trump has done less of that than previous presidents.
Anyone who wants to complain about pardons has my support. But some are just trying to bash Trump, and don't have any problem with pardons when done by their 'team'.
