I had heard the name Ben Shapiro before, but was not familiar with him until he came on Joe Rogan's podcast (a great podcast, by the way, I do recommend). He originally worked at Breitbart during the election, but left at some point when he no longer agree with the policies there (I can't recall the specifics). He has since joined The Daily Wire, and works there now, doing his show on a near-daily basis, I believe.

In this episode, he discusses the weekend trouble in Charlottesville, including the lead up into the murder itself, and he goes into detail about what the alt-right is and what it represents, primarily through the words of their leaders. And then he discusses Trump's reaction to all this going on.

I found this to be an extremely balanced and well-thought out episode. Ben Shapiro has no love for the alt-right (the Anti-Defamation League said he was the #1 target of Alt-right personal attacks in 2016), and does not pull punches on what they are and what they represent. I have not had it explained in such a clear fashion to me before, and feel I definitely have a clearer understanding of what they really are and represent. (Unrelated side note: Glad I don't go to Voat anymore.) Ben considers himself a conservative, and I think makes a strong case for how terrible the worst parts of both the right and left are. I think he succinctly and accurately explains how the term alt-right got expanded to encompass many people who do not really fall into that label, and why members of both sides would like to see it remain that way.

Overall, a very good episode, very glad I sat down and watched it.

I've always been impressed with Ben.
I disagree with him on many issues, as he holds traditional conservative beliefs, and I tend to have classic liberal.

But he is well spoken, and intelligent. He uses facts, and logic to argue his points, not drama and emotion.
He also makes a lot of good points that often make me think.
