The conspiracy of Russian hacking has been shoved down our throats since Donald Trump was elected. This is one of the most inconsistent conspiracy theories out there.

The first problem with this conspiracy is that there's no proof. It's been 8 months since the election of Trump, and we still have no evidence in favour of Russian intervention/hacking/collusion. I genuinely think the left are better at facts than the right are, especially on climate change, healthcare, drug policy, and gay marriage (not tranny shit). The left have disappointed me in their lack of evidence when it comes to this. What they have tried to do is create a storm of shit, from nothing. This is some pizzagate-style shit, where a pizza parlour is the centre of a pedo network. Russian bullshit is very similar in this sense. Just like pizzagate, there's no evidence of anything happening.

The problem with the election ballot hacking conspiracy is that we clearly saw normal amounts of voters coming out of each state. We also saw state's flip during the election (MI, PA, WI), those are ultimately what won the election. How did Russia know ahead of time which states were going to vote for Trump ahead of time? You have the solid red states, and democratic firewall. We saw the democratic firewall collapse, which is what won the election. Why would Russia even try to attack solid-blue states by ballot hacking? They would of raised less suspicion going for swing states. Instead, what we saw was some swing states go to Clinton, and a few go to Trump, but what helped Trump ultimately win over 270+ electoral college votes was the ex-democratic firewall.

What does Russia have to gain out of hacking the election? Now that Trump is elected, Russia is still being sanctioned. You would think that the main reason why Putin might try to hack is to get rid of the sanctions. Since the sanctions haven't been removed, why are we continuing this bullshit collusion theory? Exxon tried to ask for permission to do a deal with Russia, when Trump was inaugurated (I'm pretty sure) -- and they were slapped down. Since Russia isn't getting American companies investing in their economy again, what else does Russia have to gain out of election rigging? What are they going to do? Invade fucking Alaska?

Why hasn't America found out yet (if there were hackers) where they come from? How did Russia know what ballots to attack as well, as there was different machines used. Then why isn't one of the most advanced countries in cyber-warfare not able to figure out where votes came from, especially 8 months later? The FBI can hack an encrypted terrorists iPhone, but they're unable to find out where votes were originally cast from on a ballot machine? I don't know about you, but that just proves that there's no hacking.

If Russia DID hack, why would they give it away by saying that it originated from Russia? Wouldn't it of made more sense for it to be North Korea who then used a Russian VPN, as an example? Or China, or even Iran. No country is stupid enough to engage in cyberwarfare without masking themselves first, as not only does it provide an extra layer of security for the computers that did the hacking, but it also is just generally fucking stupid to not do.

"B-but Russia hacked the DNC" -- why act like this is a bad thing? I don't think Russia gains anything out of releasing DNC emails, they would be better off hacking and keeping the information for themselves, as the CIA would, for example. Also, why are you mad at Russia for exposing internal corruption? I think there's no reason for Russia to even hack the DNC, and like I say, why would they publicly release their intel gains? Russia clearly didn't have DNC, and the exposing of the emails is a good thing for transparency, democracy, and knowing where you actually stand on issues, as opposed to getting a lying, dishonest, two-faced bitch.

That's all I can think of. What are your thoughts on this? I think the entire idea of Russia hacking is bullshit. I think it's also disgusting that instead of focusing on policy that helps the American public, that they instead focus on retarded conspiracy theories that have no logical backing. No wonder Trump would still win if the election were held today, as according to Washington Post.

I think you're politicising this way too much. Which, incidentally, is also the problem with the news coverage on the Russian investigation as a whole and Comey's testimony. If Clinton was elected and the FBI was investigating Russian interference in the election, the same arguments would be coming from Trump supporters.

I don't even know how you can reduce this to a pizzagate-level conspiracy theory. We have had one leak confirming that Russia did probe voting machine manufacturers trying to find information before the election happened. The ex-director of the FBI has said under oath that the entire intelligence community is certain that Russia used "overwhelming technical effort" to interfere in the election. We know that individuals in the Trump administration have been investigated by the FBI.

We also know that different intelligence agencies - not just in the US, agencies around the world - have corroborated the information reported in Christopher Steele's Trump dossier. TL;DR: MI6 officer released a bunch of information suggesting that Russia has dirt on Trump, other intelligence agencies also reported the same info and some US officials also verified some parts of the dossier. The dossier also alleges that the Trump campaign agreed to take a lighter stance on Ukraine:

In July 2016, the Republican National Convention made changes to the Republican Party's platform on Ukraine: initially they proposed providing "lethal weapons" to Ukraine, but the line was changed to "appropriate assistance". J. D. Gordon, who was one of Trump's national security advisers during the campaign, said that he had advocated for changing language because that reflected what Trump had said.

I'm not even going to begin to try and guess how Russia went about fixing the election. We know that they scoped out the voting machines, but nothing beyond that. I do think you are greatly over simplifying the investigation though. Using Russian VPNs is not enough to fake something like this. These intelligence agencies are constantly coming into contact with each other, and there will be several ways to locate the source of an attack that are more in depth than looking at where an IP is located. The fingerprinting of agencies based on the structure of retrieved samples of code or exploits known only to certain countries, for example, could be a way in which they managed to tie it back to Russia.

This "conspiracy theory" does have a logical backing, and it is absolutely in the interest of the American public to know that their elections, and perhaps their president, have been compromised.
