North American B-25 Mitchell

Wow!

I just saw the Yankee Warrior pictured over the weekend. There was a second B-25 there as well.

For $400 they were taking people up in the Yankee, but that's too much for me.

The bare steel finish on Yankke_ looks spectacular.

I see the old war birds around now and then, but never wanted to pay a premium price for a ride myself. But hey, more power to them, they cost a fortune to maintain, so they have to get the money somewhere I guess. I just enjoy seeing them.

I've never been able to confirm it. But my late grandpa claimed to have had a hand in developing the later variants of this aircraft.

Including the models armed with a 75 mm cannon, the 18, .50 caliber machine gun and another variety.

Very cool. You should pursue that more, it would be an interesting family story to pass down.

I may give it another go. It would be cool to find something more concrete to back his claims.
