On Voat, if I mod or own a sub, I can delete myself. If I've already chosen a mod to take it over, I can change them from a mod to an owner, and if not it comes up with something to the effect of 'You can claim this sub' in place of an owner. Then someone interested can claim the sub by putting in a request for it, and Putt would approve/deny, if I recall correctly. At any rate, any sub could have more than one owner and any mod could remove themselves from a sub.
This isn't a major priority, but I was wondering if we could have the capability to add a secondary owner of a sub, and have the ability to delete ourselves as a mod. Right now, as far as I can see, once you're an owner or mod, you're trapped as such unless you completely delete your user account. An option to delete yourself as a mod would be great. Better would be to allow you to delete yourself and make another the owner in your place.
(Note: am also posting this in Poaldev, as it's the same code with the same issue).
I asked our mods to transfer s/justgrowit and they were quick to do so. Is it possible if someone wants to be un-mod themselves they could just ask @Polsaker or @Pembo or @Pyma if they wanted? I'm interested in this too because I create some subs more for good classification than wanting to own them permanently.
Also: on Voat.co (if you've heard of it) I added an owner incase I just lost interest... it'd be nice to be able to add a sub owner for the sake of the community if someone leaves. And that's happened a bunch of times with @Smirk already
