Not surprising now that I think about it. It's actually very impressive that our percentage of waste is so low. Funny how you never hear about that when communities are wanting to ban plastic bags at grocery stores etc.

It's all a PR stunt thing catering to the PC crowd. They never attack the real sources of all these scares, they just play these games to make themselves look like environmental heroes.
