I do believe history would remember him differently had he not been assassinated. He had a string of major fuck ups including the whole Bay of Pigs fiasco.

It definitely doesn't hurt. Admittedly there has to be something more there to get the level of adoration that Lincoln, FDR, and JFK get compared to McKinley, but that can be more marketing and apperances rather than merit.

JFK was a horrible person by all accounts.
