Since October I have been wanting to own a bike again. I set a budget of $100 to try find a set of wheels for me.
I have always enjoyed biking as an activity and as a form of transport. I'm not some new-age environmentalist who bikes for the virtue signalling points. I genuinely used to enjoy going out and riding my bike.
In 2016 my beloved bike was stolen from me. I had that bike given to me years ago by a client of my parents work. I used that bike for my paper run, to transport myself, in school triathlons. It was a good bike until it was stolen.
Since then I haven't used a much much if at all. But the past few months have made me want to get biking again.
I have been searching at Kmart & The Warehouse for bikes in October. There is nothing for the $100 range unless you want a kids bike. Second hand shops have nothing. I even tried going to the local pawn shop, which had no bikes. I thought buying a bike would be an easy task.
Finally today I bought a bike from Kmart online. $109 + $15 shipping. Not too shabby. Overbudget but it isn't going to break the wallet. I bought the last one in online stock.
Until I received an email an hour ago about a refund being processed. What refund? I never initiated one. They cancelled the god damn bike purchase.
I'm back to searching for a bike on the market. This is retarded. Maoist China had no trouble giving everyone bicycles to ride around on. North Korea is full of bikes. Yet I can't seem to buy a bike without breaking the bank in a first-world democratic and capitalist country.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I'll sell you my bike for $100. You just gotta pay shipping.
