We prefer discussion over screaming.
We prefer questions over accusations.

We also understand that we can disagree without having to hate each other.

Also, with it being so small there is more intamacy. You recognise almost all the names you see after a while.

Downvotes are rare.

Pretty much the people. Here you can still talk with people. They don't immediately assume your trying to destroy them.

Honestly, thats pretty much why I'm here. You can actually talk to people about the stuff posted.

It's exactly this that I've been looking for in a site! I hope as people start trickling it that concept doesn't get tossed aside.

Phuks is a small get together w drinks and a BBQ. The music is low and you can talk w/o screaming over the stereo and crowd. Voat has grown into a raging frat kegger.

Hi.

No spam, high quality shitposting, you can have an actual discussion without being caught in the middle of a circlejerk and we have pretty much all of Voat's features except ours actually work - Most Of The Time™.

NSFW content is disabled by default, go into your options to turn it on, and also enable experimental features for live updates on votes and posts on all/new. I think notifications refresh automatically without that option enabled now.

Welcome @ZetaReticulan. I'm Red.

These reasons by PMYA, along with the particular individuals here, are the primary reason I come here. I've had a few high-quality discussions here and there that have honestly given me something to think about in regards to certain values I hold, and I personally feel less "exposed" (for lack of a better word) than I would be on Voat or Reddit. The smaller community - to me, anyway - helps foster a certain closeness and intimacy I wouldn't feel on the other sites. So that's a big part of why I like it here too.

I'll give this place a go, for whatever reason, I can't retrieve my account on Voat anyway so I might as well give y'all a go.

Activity is way slower here than other aggregators, mainly as a result of nobody sharing the site publicly because it is still being put together.

If you know any users from other sites who might be interested in Phuks, send them a message. More activity is good, but it is important to keep the userbase at a manageable level of toxicity, which is why nobody here links to it on Voat.

Welcome

We started building this last year around when voat was having technical problems just in case it never came back. Most of the stuff here works about the same. We looked into other aggregator clones, even running reddit's code, but none of them stood out, so we made this from scratch..

Two of our game subs require the ability to go back more than 20 pages of history, the embedded video player for subs' youtube links(see /s/music and /s/videos), sub countdown timers for events, multi sub views and sharing, modmulti to easily view just the subs you mod, sub tagging for better searching, site logs, sub sorting options (hot/new/top) for the default view, no ads/tracking, and some stuff from the AVE add-on. The code and the build process is open and the site pulls from the public repo, so no site changes can be made without being public first. Feature updates and bug fixes are shown in /s/changelog.

and there's still lots to do

The Admins do a massive amount of work and definitely don't get enough credit.

As always, thanks for you guys' time and effort.

When our great founders set out to create this paradise they did so by carefully compiling the tomes of Amalek, treating them as commandments handed to Moses himself. This community is founded to mimic Amalek's utopian civilization.

People are pretty much just chill here, I think most of us have been burnt out by all the drama/stupidity/vitriol/politics of Voat and Reddit and really just wanted a chill community to share stuff and pursue our interests. I don't speak for anyone else here but I don't think Phuks wants to be labeled where as Reddit wants to be "the frontpage of the internet" and Voat wants to be the "Free Speech" site Phuks just wants to be.

I almost simply replied 'the peace and quiet'. Because its just more of that here, less noise.
