Good afternoon!

I heard about this place on Voat and thought I'd check it out. I really like the orange and white color scheme so I don't think I'm going to make much use of the night mode. I also like that I can move around my subs in my sub bar. I wish Voat had that because I like too keep the subs I frequent right in front of me. I'm simple like that. What is the etiquette here? I know that Poal (and in a way Voat) has a culture of being selective with downvotes, is that the same here? Also, may I have an explanation of the level system?

I don't speak like a Voat user usually would. I don't really like to use such rough language despite the fact that my own opinions can be a bit out there. It's a stylistic choice, I suppose. I like to think of myself as rather friendly, patriotic and a bit silly.

I have the same name on Voat as I do here so you can review my comments and submissions inorder to make your own judgement.

The majority of us seem to only utilize downvotes for spam, or extreme cases of useless angry drivel. People are pretty friendly here.

The level system works on participation. Comment, post and interact and your level will increase. (It's actually calculated by upvotes I think)

Is level a shorthand for how active someone is? Does it change the color of names like Poal?

Not that I know of. I only briefly used poal so I dont know what you're talking about.

Poal also has levels and the color of your name signifies what level range you are in. I didn't know about star jelly prior to my name. I just put words together.

Welcome aboard.

Voat grew out of Reddit. Phuks grew out of Voat. Poal grew out of Phuks, based on the same code with some changes. Poal and Phuks are pretty closely related, the only reason Poal exists was because of restrictions that Phuks' hosting requires.

Phuks is best viewed using the "ALL" and "NEW" links at the top. "ALL" will give you posts from all subs and "NEW" will give you those same posts but in reverse chronological order. You are welcome to only watch the subs you subscribe to, but you'll probably miss a good bit of content overall.

Are the restrictions you're talking about technological?

I'll make good use of the new link. I've used all a lot on Voat and that has been pretty boring. Maybe I just have few interests.

Check out the "ToS" link at the bottom of the page. That will explain it. It's more of a legal restriction, mostly obvious things you can't have like child porn and software pirating, but also some stuff like advocating violence against others.
