Hi everyone!

I'm Sean King, founder and president of Sandia Mesa Animation Studios. Although I was originally planning on joining Voat in my search for a good alternative to Reddit, I think I might have found a fairly good place. As a person who is fairly concerned about my own right to privacy on the internet, I'm really happy that there's almost no trackers on this site (the only part w/some trackers so far is coming from the Google reCAPTCHA thing). If I find that I really like this place, then I will definitely consider creating a sub on here for Sandia Mesa.

The Captcha disappears once your newness wears off.
The admins here seem to understand the value of privacy, so they do what they can.

I've been wearing a tin-foil hat for decades, so that appealed to me.

hi, and welcome. We have talked about the captcha thing a few times. it goes away at after level four. We're considering using a locally hosted one. Let us know if you have any questions or ideas :)

You mentioned an alt to reddit and voat. We run this site for $35/month, and we're all open source, so if you want to run your own version of this site, with your own branding, we'd be willing to help figure out how to get it going with your own rules (like no google captcha) and then turn over the keys to you.

I noticed that we’re not allowed to use underscores for sub names, which is interesting because there’s /s/Anarcho_Capitalism. Is there a way that could possibly be changed?

We had an issue early on, and had to remove it, but that may have been fixed by now. Let me check with the other dev and get back to you.

It looks like dreamhost in general is down. You should probably get a new host.

So I looked into it more. It looks like your host hates VPNs.

I like catalysthost personally.

It typically happens, but sites tend to go downhill with more human moderation. But for now, I do appreciate the fresh clean feel, as do many other refugees.
