I'm glad that I found you goats. We are truly scattered on the wind.
hey,
We've had a bunch of people doing this. Some we've sorted out, but most have had to abandon the name for the time being. Because we chose to not be connected to other networks, we cant use the "register with google/facebook/twitter" methods. Unfortunately we also can't just hijack the username of someone. If you want to keep the RealNS name for now, cool, we'll figure it out and we'll all get to know you all over again. We've had use the "clean slate" policy for new users. I wish I could give you a better answer, but for now, hang out and keep communicating. We had almost 200 new users in 2 days, it's been a bit overwhelming at times, but we're going to keep working at it.
Hmmm.. you know what? Now that I think about it, what with Phuks being a totally different platform than voat with a different set of rules I'd say kindly delete that "needlestack" imposter account. They're obviously up to no good and I've proven that my identity was stolen. :)
Thanks for the response! How did you 'sort out' the other users who impersonated others if I may ask? Eh, I don't really like using "RealNeedleStack" as I'm sure you can imagine! :)
yeah, i guess i need to be careful with that phrase. We didn't actually strip away anyone's account. We knew some people through other networks from months ago, so when the impersonator tried, we all called them out right away. Until we figure out a reclaim method, or they abandon it or delete it, I'm not comfortable with changing names around. I'll add it to the list, but that's really all I can promise right now.
Please let me know if you have any other questions :)
Yes. What does Phuks do in such situations? I suppose enlightening users is the only thing I suppose.
