Hello everyone,

I lurked reddit for 2 or 3 years; the main think I learned were the great similarities of emotions of people. Everyone has their insecurities, goals, fear, etc. I got uncomfortable when I learned about the management of reddit, so I lurked voat for a year and voated for another; I learned much about non-mainstream news, conspiracies, and the right. Most everyone wants what they understand as best, but perceptions differ greatly. It is also far harder to perceive accurately than most imagine. In the 1940s, most of the world was killing each other over political differences. The democrats, fascists, communists, and imperialists all had very different views. After the democrats & communists won WWII, they almost destroyed the world fighting each other. Sanity is not so high on this planet.

As far as myself, I am into statistical signal processing, C++, NVIDIA/CUDA, cryptocurrency mining, shamanism (curious about Asatru), & misc hobbies like auto mechanics, off roading, hiking/camping and boating. Slightly interested in guns. Live in the San Francisco bay area.

Hi to the few voaters I recognize.

Having come over during the voat downtime, I will plan to stay around, but will certainly jump back and forth between here and voat.

Thanks for being here!

I am into statistical signal processing, C++, NVIDIA/CUDA,

That sounds like debt but with more letters.

:-) LOL!!! You made a similar related derogatory comment when we were PM'ing. Debt itself is not necessarily a bad thing. There are good uses: education to allow a much better paying job & mortgage for a place to live and a reasonable investment. I heard the US (or at least US industry) borrowed much as it was building infrastructure, like railroads, during the 1800s. They key is to use the money wisely.

I also understand many people borrowed money to pay medical bills, which is more testimony to the fucked medical establishment, and the way people abuse their bodies.

The statistical signal processing was both academic, engineering, and marketable. Moreover,it was via a full fellowship & employee education funding, not borrowed funds. The rest is mostly self-taught.

The wastefulness of a frivolous college is not merely financial, it is lost time, and creates fucked up world-views.

I think this is what many people fail to realize because they're so busy worrying about either a) owing someone or b) the evil banks run by governments/jews/what have you.

Debt can be used to your advantage provided you aren't frivolously acquiring it. We simply hear about the people who can't manage their debt more often than those who use it wisely. Sure there's risk, but there's also risk in simply getting out of bed every day.
