Mainly stuck around voat for the shitposts and endless stream of news, from different random sources. Also, Phuks kinda seemed like a ghost town— even by voat standards. But, alas, times move forward. Gonna stick around here and gab, for a while. See which one grows on me. Mainly, I have a question involving this line, from the ToS:

Posting content of any kind that incites discrimination, hate or violence towards one person or a group of people because of their belonging to a race, religion or nation is strictly prohibited.

Seems to be the elephant in the room, for those who are apprehensively singing up, over the past 24 - 48hrs. Part of the reason that voat blew up, was due to the fact that you could discuss things that were beginning to be labelled "taboo", elsewhere. I've seen others, in my short burst of lurking, that they're posting things like, "fuck Islam" as a proof that this place isn't reddit 2.0. That's cool.

I'm just looking for clarification; I get that inciting hate and violence, and simply stating your hatred towards something, are two different things. But in the spirit of not coming in here to shit up the place, figured I'd ask first. If I just have to tone-down the shitposts and jew-memes, that's cool. If I have to tip-toe around saying anything negative about things that I sincerely believe in, because it might offend someone and get me banned— even if I'm being completely objective and reasonable, about my views, then you could consider this my last post. :/

That's pretty much what I'm getting on about. I don't mean to imply that I'm going to come here and start shitting up the place by calling everyone a niggerfaggotkike. Just want to make sure I'm not setting myself up for failure. It seems to be that the general rule of thumb is that: as long as I conduct myself in the same way that I would, say at work, I'd still be able to discuss such topics that would otherwise get me fired; if that makes sense. I'm okay with that.

Sometimes I like to let loose and shitpost/engage in some bantz; especially when I've been drinking. But this site seems to have its own version of SDBH/SBBH, so I'll poke around in there, later (no homo... some homo).

EDIT: good to know about the open source aspect. That's one thing that I like about here over voat. Their github was always out of date, and I'm pretty sure that some of the live features never actually got updated on the repository. Which in itself was somewhat of a red flag.

no worries..

yeah, seeing stuff appear on the site and no updates to github bothered me too.

We host our own manager - https://phab.phuks.co

It's like github but with a few extra features so we can manage docs and other company stuff privately. Just open phuks in one tab and open Phab in the other, and it will ask to authorize. Enter a nickname, then you can see all of our history, active bugs, and report stuff if you have a problem. Everything is live there first and seen by multiple people before any of it is pushed to this site. This site's live code can only come from there from the master repo.

We started this site with the goal of keeping it as open as possible. We don't use any trackers, outside analytics, ads or sponsored posts of any kind. Our /s/changelog keeps track of bigger stuff and shows up on the homepage if there is a major change or a new feature. We'll keep adding stuff, and if you have anything you would like to see get added, let us know in /s/ideasforphuks and we'll figure out if we can make it work.
