Mainly stuck around voat for the shitposts and endless stream of news, from different random sources. Also, Phuks kinda seemed like a ghost town— even by voat standards. But, alas, times move forward. Gonna stick around here and gab, for a while. See which one grows on me. Mainly, I have a question involving this line, from the ToS:
Posting content of any kind that incites discrimination, hate or violence towards one person or a group of people because of their belonging to a race, religion or nation is strictly prohibited.
Seems to be the elephant in the room, for those who are apprehensively singing up, over the past 24 - 48hrs. Part of the reason that voat blew up, was due to the fact that you could discuss things that were beginning to be labelled "taboo", elsewhere. I've seen others, in my short burst of lurking, that they're posting things like, "fuck Islam" as a proof that this place isn't reddit 2.0. That's cool.
I'm just looking for clarification; I get that inciting hate and violence, and simply stating your hatred towards something, are two different things. But in the spirit of not coming in here to shit up the place, figured I'd ask first. If I just have to tone-down the shitposts and jew-memes, that's cool. If I have to tip-toe around saying anything negative about things that I sincerely believe in, because it might offend someone and get me banned— even if I'm being completely objective and reasonable, about my views, then you could consider this my last post. :/
Didn't mean to imply that. I'm just talking about generalities. It's like the 2A. Just because you want the right to have a gun, doesn't mean you're going to walk around, constantly shooting it in random public places.
Because sometimes they can be relevant and topical. Like the recent bount of zucc memes, for example. It's a good way to blow off steam and have a giggle.
Sometimes, looking in to "forbidden facts" will lead you down a path that will make you unkindly towards certain things, in life. That's just the way it goes. Forget where that one quote comes from, "the truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off".
Sometimes, that's impossible. For example, to cut fiat currency out of my life, I'd have to live in the woods. I mean, I have a plan laid out, to do just that, after I retire. But that's not feasible. Along those lines, I hate the fed and the people that run it. Not much I can do about that, either, except open people's eyes to the rampant corruption behind said organization.
So is living with your head in stuck in the ground, singing, "lalalalalalalalalalala" whenever you see something seriously wrong with society. That's how the UK ended up being as messed up as it is now.
That's perfectly fine, bud. I'm an adult enough to completely accept and embrace the fact that some people won't like my views on certain things; I'm used to it by now. I'd consider myself a complete wimp, to think anything else. ;) Once you let go of the need to have everyone like you, the world becomes a much simpler and straight-forward place.
