You took too many. I'd cut out art (no one really needs it, really its pics), atheism (make it user choice), religion (same as previous), eli5(trash basically), introductions (I guess is fine for now, but out of alpha), gifs (there basicly pictures or videos), movies (videos or what not, maybe make a genral pop culture sub to replace that and others), politics (just news or should be individual choice), TIL (it belongs in whatever), TV (pop culture), USnews (News again), WTF (does everyone really need it), Jokes (its never going to be funny). Maybe programming out of alpha as well.

Really I think default subs should just be the general subs and more specific this like religion and politics should be left to users to subscribe to (kinda like they do in IRL) really it should be as low as possible. They should be the essential subfucks.

I agree with killing ELI5. Too reddity, too cancery. Agree with atheism and religion. I like programming being a default, but maybe that's just me. It really helped reddit grow when it was younger because it did make the place seem far more welcoming to technical discussions.

I think programming is fine for now, but when/if the site becomes more mainstream it didn't seem like it belongs as much.

We're thinking of making a standard default and a secondary default pack.

I agree to take out the religion subs and put them in the secondary.

Setting these initially up in default setting was mainly a fail safe to prevent ppl from fucking with them.

Then if you do that make the default have as little as like possible and the recommend an opt in could have whatever.

The bulk falls into funny but if users want a more specific sub then it can be set it up by themselves .

We basically just set up the default sub and will offer/ havent thought of setting other subs ourselves.

Feel free to set them up, I'm a history enthusiast myself as well and I couldn't think of a better headmod for that corner of phuks!

If you are not up for that, you can give us a list of subs you would like to see.

I will discuss with other admins to add /s/history to the defaults
