WTF, the "flamethrowers" are basically blowtorches. It will be interesting to see where the line is drawn.

Yup, they just gotta panic about something ... and this is as good as anything I suppose.

Why else would the "flamethrowers" defeat zombies, or you get the money back?

It's a moving line. This kind of thing has been taken on many times.
What it usually comes down to is intent.

Just about anything can be used to murder someone. Even a coffee mug.
So it's not about whether the item is dangerous.
But at the same time, restrictions to items that are designed with the intent to kill, may have an effect.
Restricting who is allowed to own a personal Nuke, is probably a good idea. It has no purpose other than catastrophic destruction.

A Flamethrower somewhat rides that line.
Elons purpose is clearly novelty. And I would suspect the same for most purchasers.
However there is a reasonable argument to be made that this will end poorly for a few people, and that should be obvious from the start. Therefore, it should be preemptively banned.
I don't think that reasoning is wrong, someone is going to hurt themselves, or other.

But fuckem. We can't hold back everyone because a few dumb-ass's are irresponsible.
Darwin had a plan. Just sit back and enjoy the inevitable liveleak video-boom, and know that once again Elon is making the world a better place.
The gene-pool could use a bit of bleach.
