I'm not surprised, there were a lot of red flags walking into this project. If I remember correctly, they were very vague about what this machine would do, and I struggled to see why it would standout from other gaming options.
Why do people contribute to these kickstarters? It's one thing if you want to support a cottage company, but Atari should be able to get its own financing.

Why do people contribute to these kickstarters? It's one thing if you want to support a cottage company, but Atari should be able to get its own financing.
People see recognizable names from their past and don't understand that they are shelling out money to different groups who are not those same people from the past. I don't understand why anyone would specifically give money to Atari tho.... they literally killed the entire game console market in the US with their poor hardware and shovelware games. The NES was not called a 'game console' because Atari had tarnished that name so badly in the years before, so 'Entertainment System' was thought to sell.
