I'll play devil's advocate and say that PS1 emulation is not as good as it could be. Neither is N64 emulation, if an N64 Mini ends up happening.

Really though it's pretty easy to get hold of a PS1 still, and it's reasonable to get a modded one that can play burnt discs.

Exactly. Though I've been having problems with a dual mode PS1 disc and getting the emulation station to play the cd audio tracks. But otherwise, this is exactly the road to go.

Is it really Boomers? PS1 is solidly in the Generation X range.

Don't do that, it can barely handle it. I like Raspis, but a firefox is just too much for them. Yes, sure I know that firefoxes are a memory hug, but working with a raspi and a firefox for a few days didn't make me happy. It works, it doesn't work well.
