One of the joys of a Far Cry game has been the ability to reset all outposts (large enemy camps) to "hostile" so you can go back with a fully built character to take them on. To do this you need to have completed all outposts and finished the main story. That's where the problems start in FC5.

In older titles once you clear an outpost the enemies in the local area would mostly disappear to be replaced by friendlies. But in Far Cry 5 you have larger regions tied to the main story where once you defeat the region boss then almost all random enemies disappear. So, it doesn't sound all that different right? What are you complaining about KillBill?

In Far Cry 5 those enemies are replaced with massive amounts of NPC hikers, animals and vehicles. I mean, we are walking down a lonely trail and it feels like a main street in GTA5. Rural Montana is teeming with hikers and enough animals to eat them all. So what, you say? Well those hikers are all armed to the teeth and have a directive not to let you stealth any outposts.

Just as you are scoping out all the guard positions they will wander in raining down hellfire on the outpost and they are far from weak either. Odds are they will take out at least half the guards before they are done and if they don't the guards are now on high alert and out of position and any strategy is out the window. If a bear or puma turns up then it's game over for the hapless guards. Out of some 14 outposts this happened in about 9 of them.

What's worse is, the way the game is designed you can't even work around this by doing all he outposts first because this will force the storyline to advance too quickly and leave you in the same position, just without your full arsenal of "perks".

Oh, and don't ever free hostages on that stealth mission before you take out all the bad guys. Gone are the days of captives sneaking out and giving the rest of the hostages a chance to be rescued. It's Rambo time and there are 200 russians hillbillies to mow down with that rocket launcher they just picked up.
