True, although I would want my kids to know how to multiply two numbers without a calculator, which seems like you won't be taught anymore

I had trouble with my daughter and math this year, she's in first grade. I had to teach her methods we used in school to find the right answers. The methods they use are prone to error and confusion, they're just not natural and they don't adequately convey the concept that needs to be understood.

In my opinion, it seems the goal is not to teach math, but rather makes it so confusing and arbitrary so test scores between different demographics converge. so like a rich white school and a poor black school will report similar standardized test scores. Everyone fails equally.

If I have kids, they are definitely going to either be homeschooled or go to a private school that doesn't teach retard math
