I don't 100% get it, but I believe it's referencing the kind of "rivalry" between the Scandinavian states. I think the three (Norway, Sweden, Denmark), all kind of hate each other. It might also be a reference to the Kalmar Union, when the king of Denmark held the crowns of Norway and Sweden as well, ruling over all three nations, so maybe he's reunifying.
