That's something I appreciate, actually; when franchises notice that certain heroes are established, and so people react appropriate to them, particularly villains. If you're a super-villain, you likely also have powers/abilities that make it a fair fight, so them continuing to fight the heroes is expected. But for thug #7 who's just trying to do his job, they should basically "nope" the fuck out of there.
The film The Dark Knight did this in the beginning; Batman is established by the start of the film, and so when the Bat-signal is on drug dealers and the like notice and go hide, basically (while some want to push their luck regardless); the Falcone crime family realizes that Batman is the most serious threat to their organization, and so on.
Basically when people realize a hero is legit, and they start acting like they should around them, it's a good thing in my book.
