It's not really blindly undermining. I'm not going to target the EPA, Postal Service, or Department of Interior for undermining, for example, because they're not doing anywhere close to the harm as what's being pushed out in the response to covid by the leaders all over in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, etc.
if conditions haven't improved substantially in another year, i'll be right there with you in saying this has gone too far for too long
We all have our own lines in the sand and timetables. For me the proven and self-admitted lying from these individuals was that line a year ago. The fact is there is so much misinformation pumped out there that it isn't even worthwhile to try to figure out the truth to much of any of this. Do masks work? Are the vaccines safe? It doesn't actually matter too much for me and my risk calculation. If I were an 85-year old obese smoker with heart disease in a nursing home, I'd get the vaccine in a heartbeat.
But I'm not. For me it's much better to spend my time exercising, thinking positive thoughts, working on self improvement, and eating delicious and healthy meals rather than listen to whatever blanket, dumbed-down diktats are coming out of the ministry of truth this week. It's not really worth the effort to try to weed through their lies or omission and commission and doubletalk. I'll let time work on this problem for me, and I'll check back on this in a couple years once we actually have some answers to these questions. This is also the better course for many, many people out there rather than accepting orders from our overlords and refusing to reign them in and hold them accountable.
i mean, blindly undermining is just as bad if not worse than blind trust. i don't trust blindly. just like you, i take in lots of information and have calculated my position accordingly. if conditions haven't improved substantially in another year, i'll be right there with you in saying this has gone too far for too long but at this point, the virus is still kicking, mutating, killing... its too soon to expect this to be done.
